The development of EDi in 2016, our system to capture electronic data in the field and communicate in real time to our project management team, has proven to be a game changer for us. We can interrogate the data earlier in the project cycle and develop solutions quicker than ever before.

LBWco was the first environmental consulting company in South Australia, and probably Australia-wide, to develop and implement a paperless, fully digital and streamlined data intelligence system. We named it EDi. It is both a philosophy and an electronic system, comprised of software (app and PC), rugged tablets and carefully crafted processes that enable us to prepare and capture field data in highly organised electronic formats that are rapidly transferred to cloud storage for further processing.

By removing paper-based data collection, we can move immediately to the development of environmental intelligence from the stored data, which allows us to solve problems for our clients faster and more efficiently than ever before.

Our team can send and receive data in real time between the office and the field, enabling us to identify and raise issues with the client immediately, and improving capacity to adapt our onsite strategy compared to waiting for the field consultant to return from site and debrief over hand-written field data. The time and cost savings for projects in regional and remote areas can be significant, and risk for loss of paper records and transcription errors is greatly reduced.
